Six business owners in Sibu fined for violating CMCO

SIBU: Six business owners were fined RM1,000 each on Saturday (March 6) for not providing body temperature scanners, MySejahtera QR codes and logbooks for people to note down their particulars.

Sibu OCPD Asst Comm Stanley Jonathan Ringgit said the six were compounded by a 20-member integrated SOP monitoring team led by police, which was checking on 14 premises on Jalan Channel, Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman and Raminway.

The team comprised police, army, People’s Voluntary Corp (Rela), Marine police, Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs, Road Transport Department and the local authority.

“The six fined were three operators of a handphone shop, a hawker, a CD shop operator and a trading company operator,” he said.

They had violated the conditional movement control order under Regulation 18 of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measures Within the Infected Local Areas) Regulations 2021.
